What type of roses can I grow in washington state??
Most Roses will grow in zones as low as 4 %26amp; 5.

Here is a web site that lists which roses do best in which zones. While you are browsing through the roses just click on one that interests you and in the rose description you will find what zone is appropriate for that rose. To get you off to a good start, I would begin with the Hardy roses and search out from there. I love this site. They are reasonably priced and deal/breed exceptional own root roses. You might want to check out the David Austin roses as well.

As for growing in a pot, roses need at least a 25 liter pot which is about the size of a half barrel.

Reply:Hi,I would advise you to go into your local garden shop and find your zone. You may be able to do this online too.In Maine,we have several zones so it depends where you live in Washington state . Get a good book on roses as there are so many types and many sizes. Some are fine for potting up in a container. There are mini roses big and small. Good luck to you!!
