Would you just dead head and tidy for the on coming winter.
Or wait and sever pruning in Springtime before new grow appears.
When is best time to prune Roses in Scotland?
Well, I don't know much about the seasons in Scotland, but I'm assuming that you have a 4 season country. Heavy pruning should take place anytime between first freeze of winter and last freeze of spring. During this time the roses are dormant and will not suffer from shock. You can lightly prune roses anytime during the growing season. This includes dead heading and dead or dying cane removal.
Good Luck
