It seems like rose arrangements always have leafs in water. I thought that any leafs in water begin to rot. It doesn't seem right to pay for a rose arrangement and then have to rearrange them to avoid rot.
Why do I have to rearrange roses everytime I receive them?
If you've received your roses today from a florist, There should be no leaves left other than maybe 2 or 3 at the top, this is because leaves take water away from the rose and makes them wilt faster, most reputable florists have very strict conditioning process that they follow, especially at peak periods when the quality will not be a good as normal.
However alot of internet sites offer a services and there arrangments are massed produced to demand, usually by people with no florisrty qualifications who just follow a picture, My advice would be when you buy flowers go to a florist you trust and tell them exactly what you want, and if someone else is buying you them.. make sure they know which florist you like.
The internet is great for convience, but when people want quality the personal touch really is best.
Ohh and if you want a long lasting flower go for stargazer or casablanca lilies. both smell amazing, and can last up to 14 days with the right care. Never believe the 7 day gaurentee some supermarkets offer with flowers, With roses especially you will be lucky to get 5 days!
Reply:I hate getting flowers delivered because the arrangements are always HORRIBLE - they never look like the one you saw on the internet - the flowers are old or will be in a few hours and I agree the artistic and talent put into the arrangements leaves alot to be desired.
Tell the florist to take them back and replace them - don't stand for this sub-standard service and products any longer.
Who cares if they are busy - every arrangement should be perfect - No Excuses.
Reply:well i have a couple of reasons why u have to re arrange.. But since ur lookin for a specific answer.. I'll tell ya it. the first thing im gonna tell u is to ask your florist to remove more of the leaves when u are purchasing the flowers. If they wont do it, i suggest u find a florist that will. If your still having trouble with the leaves after u told them to remove them, then i have to find out more info.. do u get them shipped to you or do u pick them up? If they ship them to u, then u need to tell them to do a better job of packing them(if the flowers are in a vase they usually put a box around the base and a couple of tissue papers around the flowers and staple them to the box if its down right then the flowers should move or be hurt in any way) if u pick them up and dont take all percautions to make sure ur roses dont drop their leaves in the water, then it could be ur fault. (rough shipment is rough of the flowers)
But if u absolutely hate rearrangeing your flowers when u get them, then talk to your florist, ask for more leaf removal..
In my opinion i love rearrangeing the flowers when i get some.. because even though the florist does a wonderful job, i still like to have some part of the decoration process, after all i did pay for them..
Hope i helped..
Reply:I understand how you feel. I find it annoying, too. However, when I have this problem, it is usually because I have bought the flowers from a grocery store that has pre-made arrangements. When I buy from a florist, I don't have this problem - especially when they make the arrangement just for me. It seems that they pay more attention to the little details (like leaves in the water) when the customer is present.
