How Long do roses last in water?

And what is the longest lasting flower that is somewhat romantic and how long does it last?

How Long do roses last in water?
The longest lasting cut flower I've ever had was a carnation which can last for up to two months provided it is cared for properly with regular trimming and water changes. Using the cut flower food packs are a great help as well, but I kept mine happy by adding an asprine to each water change. Roses usually don't last more than a week to a week and a half.

Personally, I prefer living plants to cut flowers, so you might consider this as an option as well.

Good Luck
