About how long do roses live after putting them in a vase of water?

Roses can last several days if they are fresh to begin with. Cut the end of the stalks off with a sharp knife at an angle and then press the ends hard to bruise them.

They don't like being in direct sunshine.

Make sure no leaves are under the water to cause contamination.

A spoonful of lemonade in the water is sometimes advised to perk them up.

I use 1 aspirin in the water to help keep them looking good. You should get at the very least 2 days out of them. If you're lucky, you might get as much as 5 days out of them. (Cooler temps help also. Keep out of direct sunlight also helps.)
Reply:a couple of days no more, but you can prologue their lifespan by putting a little bit of bleach in the water, this will kill the bacteria and allow the flowers to live longer, but don't add too much or they will burn.
Reply:They don't live. They have been cut, so they are dead already.
Reply:Add some starch or aspirin tablet. It could last for a week if the room temperature is below 25°C and if it is placed at least 0.5 meters away from female human body (high degree of warmth and infrared radiation).
