Some variety are just more difficult to grow than others.

Depends on how they are dying.

They need full Sun ( unless they are a miniature rose)

Well drained soil. good soil , no clay type soils.

Usually they need to be sprayed for aphids and cut worms.

And finally a good trimming every winter.

You also may have over fertilized and that is why they are dying
Reply:Roses love full sun and plenty of fertilizer. Believe it or not they love coffee grounds in addition to an all purpose fertilizer specifically for roses. Do not overwater and prune in January for best growth.
Reply:bury them
Reply:When I lived overseas in Turkey, my gardener used chopped up banana peel and buried it near the roots. The bases of the plants were sturdier and flowers more vibrant. He only watered every other day when it was over 95 degrees.
Reply:Well if they are in the ground, just make sure they are getting plenty of water, cut of the dead leaves and thorns, and remember that they dont last that long.

If they are in a vase, try ice water.
Reply:What do they die of? Can you identify any insect infestation, or does the plant wither and die? Is it in the ground or in a pot?

One problem is overwatering. Roses like infrequent, deep watering (some plants' roots can go several feet down). If it's watered incorrectly, the roots are more shallow and prone to disease.

It may be a problem with your soil; you may need soil amendments. Go to your local nursery and explain your problem; they'll have a better idea of your location and needs.
