Washing up liquids the answer. you could always squish em with your fingers it can be quite satisfying!
How can i get rid of black fly on my roses,as im new to gardening?
hi,
Yes washing up liquid works well, also, if you go to Woolworths you can get some cheap but effective plant spray for pests.they are cheaper than garden centres
Reply:The suggestions to use soapy water are good and effective. Please don't use chemical sprays as they are so destructive.
Best remedy is to weed all round your roses, make sure they are very well watered, give them a good feed of blood, fish and bone (you can buy this at a garden centre) and then thickly mulch all round with good compost. This will make you roses healthy, and healthy roses easily survive infestation from, green fly, black fly etc, which will be quickly eaten by lady birds, lace wings, other insects and birds. Let nature work its magic.
Reply:make up a solution of soapy water just your normal washing up liquid will do then pour it over the leaves of the roses works for greenfly to. you could use chemical sprays bit i have been doing this for years and it works . good luck and enjoy your fly free roses!!
Reply:good answer from irishlad so i gave it the thumbs up washing up liquid is also alot cheaper.
Reply:A weak spraying of washing up liquid will do the trick or you can buy chemicals for the job. I always use washing up liquid and it does wrk. My Gran told me the trick a few years ago and i was really suprised to see it wrk. Give it a whirl and see wat you think. All the best.
