Can you use Miracle Grow Rose Plant food for other plants besides roses?

Sure you can. It is formulated for bloom. Many plants and garden perennials are in the rose family, and there is no reason you can't use it on other plants.

Fertilizer is fertilizer no matter which plant food it is. The important thing are the numbers usually listed under the brand name of the fertilizer. For example 7-10-5 which means that there are 7% nitrogen, 10% phosphorus and 5% potassium.

In a very rudimentary explanation, since the elements have extensive effects on plants, Nitrogen is responsible for greening and growth, phosphorus for flowering and potassium is for water balance and disease resistance. All plants can use and need these three elements (there are a total of 13 to 16 essential elements, maybe more, that are known that plants need aside from the three the rest maybe supplied naturally by most soil or part of the formulation, see fine print on the label).

The combination of elements that are on the plant food container are usually based on controlled conditions but this does not necessarily apply in most home conditions so these special names such as rose food , tree food or grass food etc. are more of a marketing tool but could be useful for non-technical people who has just started on gardening.

So, to directly answer your question, yes the rose food can be given to any plant. The only precaution is to use it when the plant seems to need it as I said about their function in my short explantion above.
