Could some1 plz tell me how to make grass green n roses maintained?
Alot of the chemical fertilizers will make your lawn green fast, but it is so instant that no real strength or lasting health will result. They artificially force the grass to green, but leave it weakend as a result. You'll soon find that after harsh conditions, the grass will be weaker than in the beginning. Chicken manure is the best (although it does stink - it makes your lawn sooo green). It will improve the quality of the soil as well as release precious nitrates. use a pitch fork to press some air holes into your lawn, place manure in the holes, and give it a great watering. If you live in a dry area, you can use water saving granules as well. ROSES: They love compost dug into their soil, followed by a mulch on top (just be careful not to dig too close to their roots). This stops the moisture from leaving too quickly and increases soil quality. Every 2-4 weeks give them a watering with a seaweed based fertilizer, and a really good pruning in winter, and light pruning after a flowering. Make sure they get plenty of sunlight and water them when there isn't a lot of rain.
Reply:ammonia phosphate really greens up a lawn quickly try not to use to much though cause u could burn it.
For my roses I like to use Bayer flower care, it is a systemic aphid repellent and fertilizer all in one.
Reply:Lawn - add nitrogen and water well.
Roses - add pine cones and pine needles to the soil, can't ever have too much of those, and water well.
Reply:Ive heard if you put a cheap rose food on your grass it goes green really quickley try that.
Also use Rose food (a slighltley more expensive one) on your roses every two weeks makesure you spray your roses every night (not in the daytime it will scorch them) spray whereever you see aphids. hope this helps :)
Reply:i use IRONITE in the hole whenever i transplant anything. has not failed me yet!! it does not burn, so if you over do it a little, won't hurt a thing! same for the grass. make sure you water only in the morning. night watering encourages mold and rust on soggy grass.
for the roses, give them a slow release fertilizer, like ORTHO, or MIRACLE GRO etc.. some of these lasts about 3 months until next feeding..
