I am intrested in learnning how to take everyday normal roses and making my own moisturizer and or perfume?

I heard soaking roses in warm water and letting it seep for awhile makes the water smell nice enough to make your own colonge?

That's really creative. I've tried doing this with warming the water in the sun, that's the whole Bach Remedy technique. The big issues are:

Are you pulling pesticides out along with oils?

Are you pulling out oils in clean water? Something natural like Evian.

You might want to invest in real rose oil, if you're not satisfied with results at home. I only purchase through original swiss aromatics - a ton of rose petals is needed for a small amount of oil and to keep roses safe, garlic is used in the fields instead of pesticides, etc. The price is worth it, the oil grows over time like a fine wine, not all the oils do that.

You can also try one of my favorites: any made in France soaps with real rose petals in the soap. They take well care of their products, a real treat to have. I can go on an on about roses, I never really appreciated them before studying them.
