I have a dozen roses in a vase could i put sugar in the water
or is that just really stupid
Is it ok to put a little sugar in my roses water?
Actually, the ARS web site (www.ars.org) has a recomended formula for water to use for cut flowers. I can't find the formula right now, but from memory, I think its 1/2 of sugar (feeds the flower) plus 1 TBS of bleach (keeps other things from growing in the water) in one gallon of water.
Reply:NO its not stupid it will help. ALOT but make sure you fill a large vase with water and about 1 table spoon of sugar then take them and cut them diagonaly under running water put them in the vase and put them in the sun. :-) O and that last one..... DONT DO IT IT WONT WORK IT WILL KILL YOUR FLOWERS. hahaha runon
