Simple home-made sprays to prevent black spot/tiny green bugs on roses?

Does bicarbonate of soda work?

Does a mixture of Chamomile, Chive, Elder, Horseradish and Casuarina leaves work?

Ive also been told 2 parts water and one part milk helps?

Simple home-made sprays to prevent black spot/tiny green bugs on roses?
For bugs:

3 parts (1 tsp of cooking oil, 1 tsp of soap, and 1 gallon of water). A hose in sprayer works great for this so you can get the undersides of the leaves as well...

Soap kills the insects, oils help to shine the leaves and make it slick for bugs to stay on plants or lay eggs. This works great for insects such as aphids, mealy bugs, red spider mites, scales and whiteflies.

For blackspot: 1 tsp of baking soda in 1 gallon of water usually does the trick especially on roses... Also keep any leaves off the ground that have blackspot on them, it spreads.

Do this early morning or late in day go back out and wash down again... a few hours later, enough baking soda residual will stay to get rid of the blackspot. I just use it before sunset but then I get up before and wash off before the sun gets too hot to wash excess residual off the leaves, enough gets absorbed overnight.
Reply:black spot is a virus that loves humid conditions to limit its destruction to your roses cut all affected leaves from the bush and place in a plastic bag in the bin. Then prune your rose bushes into vase shapes, opening up the middle of the plant to allow air to move through them and keep them from getting moist and humid. Also only water your roses at the ground level not over the whole plant.

Bicarbonate of soda dissolved in water can help to treat black spot but should not be used unless you do all of the above as well.

Best treatment for the little green bugs is to use the washing up water as others have already said but combine this with physical removal of the bugs as well.
Reply:I spray the roses with washing up liquid in water kills the aphids.
Reply:dish soap and water will do the trick
Reply:Soapy water works to get rid of aphids (the green bugs) very well. Just mix up some mild household dishwashing soap (Ivory, Dawn) like you would to wash dishes and pour it over the rosebush. Do this once a week.
Reply:I did have a"recipe" for a spray for my roses but cant find it anywhere but it did have garlic and boiled water and i think you strained it into a spray bottle. Sorry sounds so vague. I did swear did planting either chives or garlic chives close to my rose bushes. Not only do they look nice especially when in flower but i have never been bothered with aphids since i have done this. Hope this helps
Reply:be very careful .My rose plant went bald when i sprayed soap water on them .I guess it was too strong
