I have elegant old-style cream furniture with roses on it what would be the best colour to paint it?

or if you don't know whats the best colour to contrast with cream?

I have elegant old-style cream furniture with roses on it what would be the best colour to paint it?
Take a picture of the furniture and cut them out take them to a paint store and put them against different colors and see what looks best.But i think a pale shade of green would be a nice contrast.
