Why is the custom 12 red roses for valentines day?
12 roses: the perfect dozen. It is the number most commonly associated with roses. A dozen roses traditionally send a message of love and gratitude. As the significance of a dozen roses has become more prevalent, it has become the standard for rose arrangements for all occasions.

With double the number of roses than a traditional dozen roses, a bouquet of two dozen roses carries double the meaning! Two dozen roses as a romantic gift says "I belong to you." For other occasions, two dozen roses adds to the extravagance of the gift.
Reply:Roses have always been sold by the dozen. Don't be cheap buy her the dozen. Don't waste you money on long-stem roses though. You are only paying for a stem that will be cut off anyway. Just buy regular length.
